Chef Karla Ortiz, founder and executive chef of Bo.ka.do Scratch Kitchen in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, joins us for a five-course, 100% plant-based dinner made from the final harvest of our fields.
About the chef: Karla graduated summa cum laude from Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando. Forbes recognized her in 2019 as one of the women redesigning Puerto Rico's culinary culture, and in 2024 she became the first vegan chef to compete at the Porta del Sol Gastronomic Festival, where she placed in the Top 5. VegNews featured Bo.ka.do in 2026. Her cooking is Puerto Rican at its foundation, plant-forward in its approach, and global in its inspiration.
